Spray Hitting To All Fields

If you've missed this:
The United Football League season opener is tonight.

The Las Vegas Locomotives of the United Football League have been installed as a 7-point favorite against the California Redwoods in their inaugural game Thursday at Sam Boyd Stadium, according to odds at the Las Vegas Hilton sports book. If you're curious - good seats are still available.

The game is televised by VERSUS. Beginning October 8, VERSUS will bring viewers a UFL Game of the Week leading up to the UFL Championship game on November 27. How about that?

The Locos are -300 on the money line, and the game has a total of 40 points. In first-half wagering, the Locos are a 4-point favorite and the over/under is 20 points.

In a Saturday UFL game, the Florida Tuskers are a 4 point favorite against the New York Sentinels (-175 on the money line) in a game with an total of 40. In first-half wagering, it's the Tuskers -2.5 and an over/under of 20, according to Hilton lines.

The USF web site can be found HERE.

Sports Monitor Executive Service through Superbowl only $595.
This is a huge roll-back from our price structure over the last 29 years. In fact, this roll-back takes the fee back to the price it was 25 years ago. Last season, our fee at this time would have been $925.

Members receive all of Sports Monitor's Executive Selections and all the selections of 40 major services each game day. This looks to be our best weekend of the 2009 season.

Another wild finish to a high school football game.

.............................................................................
Las Vegas Locomotives -7 points
over
California Redwoods

I was comped into this event - still, that did not tempt me to go, but after further review, I'm curious to see the spectacle - a new league --- so, of course, I had to make a wager on it. So, I looked into this contest and found something so that I could rationalize the wager to myself.

Here's my angle. Former NFL coach Dennis Green is coaching the California Redwoods -- and if that's not reason enough... The California Redwoods are owned by Paul Pelosi. Yep, that Paul Pelosi, as in Mister Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House of Representatives. I'm looking for the Jim Fassel coached Las Vegas Loco's and quarterback J.P. Losman to win by two touchdowns over California here in Las Vegas tonight. Locomotives coach Jim Fassel wants to showcase Losman's talent and experience and play the sort of exciting, wide-open offense that Fassel oversaw when he coached John Elway at Stanford.
